Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream is recalling some of its Passion Fruit Dreamsicle Ice Cream Bars due to the presence of undeclared wheat and soy. This Jeni’s ice cream recall affects a single batch of the product distributed nationwide.
The recall was announced Nov.17; the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) published the recall notice the following day. The affected product is identified by the batch code 25-210, which is printed on the top of the carton.
According to the recall notice, the issue arose when a crunch topping from another product, containing wheat and soy, was mistakenly added to this batch during manufacturing.
“People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to soy and/or wheat run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume these ice cream bars,” the notice says.
