If you made a credit card purchase at a Home Consignment Center in Danville, Roseville or Folsom, California at any time prior to August 30, 2008 and were asked to give your address and/or telephone number, you may be able to claim a merchandise discount certificate from a class action settlement. If approved, the class action settlement will resolve a lawsuit alleging Home Consignment Center violated California law by requesting customers’ personal information in connection with a credit card purchase.
According to the class action settlement notice, class members can receive a merchandise certificate for a 50% discount off any item priced $20 or less, a 30% discount off any item priced $100 or less, or a 20% discount off any item regardless of price. These certificates must be used at a Home Consignment Center retail location in Danville, Roseville or Folsom, California. The fairness hearing was scheduled for May 21, 2010, but no decision has been posted yet. For more information and updates on the class action settlement, visit www.gilardi.com/homeconsignmentcenter.
