If you made a credit card purchase at a Home Consignment Center in Danville, Roseville or Folsom, California at any time prior to August 30, 2008 and were asked to give your address and/or telephone number, you may be able to claim a merchandise discount certificate from a class action settlement. If approved, the class action settlement will resolve a lawsuit alleging Home Consignment Center violated California law by requesting customers’ personal information in connection with a credit card purchase.

According to the class action settlement notice, class members can receive a merchandise certificate for a 50% discount off any item priced $20 or less, a 30% discount off any item priced $100 or less, or a 20% discount off any item regardless of price. These certificates must be used at a Home Consignment Center retail location in Danville, Roseville or Folsom, California. The fairness hearing was scheduled for May 21, 2010, but no decision has been posted yet.
