Do you own a Waring blender? Have you noticed your blender leave small black flecks in your blended food and drink?
These Waring blender black flecks are non-food material that may be generated by the friction of the blade against the seal. If your blender is leaving black flecks in your food, you may be able to join a class action lawsuit investigation.
The Waring Blender Black Flecks Issue
For many, cooking at home and using appliances like blenders are part of a food routine created so that people know exactly what goes into their food, or part of a health routine to ensure they’re living the healthiest lifestyle possible.
Unfortunately, some blenders may be doing a disservice to the consumers who expect these things—they may be allowing tiny particles of material from the blender itself to make its way into the food or drink being blended.
One of the blenders allegedly affected by this defect is the Waring blender. If you have seen Waring blender black flecks after using the appliance, you may be eligible to join a class action investigation into the issue.
One consumer who complained of the Waring blender black flecks issue reported, “I DO see some very, very tiny black flecks upon running the clear water test… Apparently it is the same material used on Teflon pans. Not thrilled about this — please let me know if you can enlighten me about this. I plan to call Waring customer support to see what they have to say about it.”
Another customer said, “I really wanted to like this Blender considering this is one of the few companies that offer an alternative to toxic plastic containers. However, the ‘black flake’ issue is very REAL! I ran this blender through several tests (around 7 to 10 times) with plain water and black plastic flakes were everywhere…YUCK! It seems that the higher I ran the speeds and longer [sic] I ran the blender the more black flakes it produced…”
How to Find Waring Blender Black Flecks
These particles are small, so how can you tell if they’re really there? There’s a simple method for finding out. Just use this test: take two cups of water and place it into a white bowl to double check that the water itself is clean of any potential specks. Then, pour the water into a clean blender, running it on high for 90 seconds. Pour the water back into a white bowl, and check to see if there are now any black flecks in the water.
Consumers have reported more than just Waring blender black flecks. Indeed, Vitamix was hit with similar allegations in 2015 over tiny particles left in blended foods. The company agreed to a class action settlement.

I have found black specks of stuff in my meats that I buy at the grocery stores and only here recently the last few months. Is there anything I could do about that?
