Foster Farms recall overview:

  • Who: Foster Poultry Farms LLC is recalling approximately 3.8 million pounds of chicken corn dog and ground turkey-on-a-stick products.
  • Why: The Foster Poultry Farms recall is due to possible contamination with extraneous material, specifically pieces of wood embedded in the batter.
  • Where: The recall is active across the United States.

Foster Poultry Farms has initiated a recall of over 3.8 million pounds of chicken corn dog and ground turkey on-a-stick products due to potential contamination with wood pieces. The recall affects products distributed nationwide, including those sent to retail and institutional locations.

The recall notice was issued by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) on Oct.4, 2025, and follows a similar corn dog recall by Hillshire Farms due to possible contamination with wood pieces.

The affected products were manufactured between July 30, 2024, and Aug. 4, 2025, and bear the establishment number “P-6137B” either inside the USDA mark of inspection or on the packaging.

These items were distributed to various locations, including schools, although they were not part of the USDA’s National School Lunch Program.

The issue came to light following a consumer complaint which led to the discovery of wood pieces in the batter, resulting in at least five reported injuries.

Consumers advised to dispose of or return affected products

Consumers are advised to dispose of or return the affected products to the place of purchase. The recall notice emphasizes that the products should not be consumed under any circumstances.

“Consumers who have this product should discontinue use immediately and return it to the place of purchase or discard it,” the recall notice says. The FSIS is conducting recall effectiveness checks to ensure that the products are no longer available to consumers.

Foster Poultry Farms is actively working to address the issue by notifying its customers and ensuring the contaminated products are removed from circulation. The company has set up a consumer affairs hotline and email for inquiries related to the Foster Poultry Farms recall. Consumers can contact Foster Farms Consumer Affairs at 1-800-338-8051 or email [email protected] for more information.

Foster Poultry Farms says it has received reports of five injuries related to the recall so far. The company is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes lead to class action lawsuits.
