Consumers are alleging serious complaints against Fluidmaster Inc., claiming their “No-Burst” toilet connectors are defectively made.
Consumers who bought an allegedly defective Fluidmaster toilet connector claim the products cracked, leaked, and caused significant water damage.
Toilet connectors are flexible metal hoses that connect the shut-off valve to the toilet tank, supplying the toilet tank with water. Fluidmaster No-Burst toilet connectors are a part of Fluidmaster’s line of braided steel supply lines, which are designed to supply water to common household water dispensers including faucets and dishwashers, in addition to toilets.
Fluidmaster No-Burst toilet connectors attach to the toilet tank by utilizing a plastic coupling nut, which is made from the polymer acetal that is supposed to be resistant to leaking. However, the acetal material making up the plastic nut has been reportedly linked to high rates of failure under stress.
In addition, consumers allege the acetal nut cannot stand up to the normal force that is created once the nut is threaded into position on the tank. The product comes with a 10-year warranty, and the product label promises consumers that the coupling nut is “heavy duty.”
However, some consumers complain that this allegedly defective Fluidmaster toilet connector has not lived up to its marketing claims and has caused them to pay for thousands of dollars in water damage.
Overview of Fluidmaster Defective Toilet Connector Allegations
Fluidmaster has received thousands of warranty claims for property damage. The company has been named as a defendant in multiple lawsuits, from consumers alleging damage to their homes was caused by the defective Fluidmaster toilet connector.
Plaintiffs who filed legal action against Fluidmaster allege the company had known about the problems with the plastic coupling nuts on these No-Burst toilet connectors since October 2000. Even though the company has allegedly known for over a decade, plaintiffs say the company did not disclose this information to the public.
Plaintiffs further complain that instead of taking measures to fix the defective Fluidmaster toilet connector models, the company had decided to conceal this information and continue to sell the product to the market.
Even though Fluidmaster eventually released a later version of the No Burst toilet connectors with a superior coupling nut, the company did not notify the public of defects associated with the earlier models.
Fluidmaster is currently facing a No-Burst toilet connector class action lawsuit filed by consumers who are seeking to represent any United States citizens who have allegedly experienced water damage from Fluidmaster No-Burst toilet connectors.
Consumers who suffered property damage and financial losses due to problems with an allegedly defective Fluidmaster toilet connector may be able to file legal action against the company.
