Consumers complain that Bose SoundSport battery life is not as long as they would expect from the expensive wireless headphones.
Customers who have purchased Bose SoundSport Wireless, SoundSport Pulse or SoundSport Free headphones challenge the company’s marketing claims that the charged batteries last five or six hours per charge. Many Bose customers also say the headphones aren’t as sturdy as advertised because they allegedly stop working after minimal use or shortly after the warranty expires.
According to Bose’s website, the SoundSport wireless headphones sell for $149.95; SoundSport Pulse wireless headphones are $199.95 and SoundSport Free wireless headphones are $199.95. After plunking down that amount of cash, consumers expect a quality set of earbuds. Yet Bose SoundSport battery life has reportedly been a problem for some customers since the day they bought the premium wireless headphones.
Despite praise for both the comfort and sound quality, Bose SoundSport battery life and build quality bring down the headphones’ ratings, according to several customer reviews.
Bose has been a well-respected name and leading brand in the audio industry for about 50 years. Many customers who have been Bose fans for years express surprise and disappointment with the SoundSport, SoundSport Pulse and SoundSport Free headphones.
Bose SoundSport Battery Life Issues
Several customers have written online reviews to warn others of the poor Bose SoundSport battery life performance:
“Less than a month after I began using the Bose SoundSport Earbuds, the battery life has gone from 2 hours to no hours. After having the headphones plugged into my computer overnight, when I press the power button, nothing happened. The unit no longer holds a charge.”
“The headphones fit well into my ear and stay in through hard running, but since I first received them, and over the entire 6 months of use, they have been really hard to charge. I use the included charger, and about 4 days out of 7, the battery dies within 10-30 minutes of my turning them on, even when I’ve charged overnight. I’m not sure if I got a lemon or not, but I am going to try to return these. The longest charge I’ve ever gotten is about 60 minutes. I would not recommend these.”
Another customer says he bought a second pair of Bose SoundSport headphones after the first set were crushed in a gym accident. The second pair would not charge from the time they were taken out of the box, he reports. When he returned those for another new set, the new headphones reportedly no longer held a charge after 35 days. He said after those two bad experiences with the Bose SoundSport battery life, he won’t try a third time.
Bose offers a limited warranty of one year from date of retail purchase on all of its headphones. Bose offers several tips to customers who are experiencing battery charging problems. Failing these options, customers seem to feel they didn’t get the top-notch product they paid for.
