Consumers Could Have Grounds for Legal Action After Purchasing NCL Travel ProtectionDid you or your loved one purchase NCL travel protection after booking and traveling on a cruise with Norwegian? The NCL travel protection plan is under investigation by attorneys for a possible class action after consumer complaints were reported.

Purchasing a travel protection plan at the same time you purchase your cruise ticket might seem like a good idea, but some consumers are pushing back and claiming that they were not informed about exactly what they were buying the in NCL travel protection plan.

According to consumer complaints about the NCL travel protection plan, consumers may have been duped into purchasing this combination of travel support and insurance at an additional cost.

The NCL travel protection plan consists of a combination of cancellation fee waivers, travel assistance provided by On-Call International Inc., and travel insurance policies offered through numerous companies. The NCL travel protection plan was allegedly sold to customers as a collection of these three products, despite the fact that it was sold as a single package for a single price.

Consumers upset about the purchase of their NCL travel protection plan claim that they were misled into believing that the vacation protection plan price was made up of a fee for each of the companies providing the service and that each of those providers was an independent third party insurer.

According to complaints related to the NCL travel protection plan and other similar plans sold by Royal Caribbean and Disney Cruise Lines, the cruise companies have received undisclosed kickbacks for every travel insurance policy sold to cruise-goers. Consumers claim that Norwegian and other cruise lines deceptively marketed the travel protection plans by failing to disclose this kickback to consumers.

If you purchased an NCL travel protection plan for your Norwegian cruise and believe that the company used deceptive opt-out marketing tactics, sold travel insurance policies that could never lead to payment for any claim insured under the policy, or sold the policy with non-insurance products without identifying the price paid for each product, you could be eligible to participate in a class action lawsuit investigation.
