Costco is recalling one lot code of Kirkland Signature Severe Cold & Flu Plus Congestion medication due to “potential foreign material contamination.”
The recall was announced to Costco members who purchased the affected product in a letter dated Jan. 2, 2025.
According to the notice, the company LNK International Inc. first initiated a recall for the “accidental release and shipment” of a specific lot code of the cold and flu medication that was rejected due to potential foreign material contamination.
The recall applies to Kirkland Signature Severe Cold & Flu Plus Congestion medication marked with the lot code P140082.
“Do not use any remaining product marked with the above lot code; return the item to your local Costco for a full refund,” the Kirkland recall says.
Foreign material not disclosed by Costco, LNK in Kirkland recall
The company did not say what the contaminant was. It also did not say whether there have been any injuries or illnesses related to the potential contamination so far. Costco is not currently facing legal action, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes result in lawsuits.
In November last year, Continental Dairy Facilities Southwest LLC recalled more than 79,000 pounds of Costco butter as it fails to contain a disclaimer about milk allergens. According to the recall, the packaging of the products may not have an allergen disclaimer about milk on it.

27 thoughts onRecall issued for Kirkland cold, flu medication sold at Costco
I’m very scared hearing this, I recieved a letter that one of my perscriptions specifically Gabapentin had been recalled due to non specific foreign substance, mind you this letter had come weeks after I’d already consumed more than half of my monthly perscription. Not sure what exactly to do and now seeing my medication on the list in your article really puts me in fear of questioning weither or not this non specific foreign substance has affected me already or could affect me in the future. What should I do?
