Acme Smoked Fish Corp. is recalling 111 cases of Kirkland Signature Smoked Salmon as the product may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

The Costco recall was published to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration website on Oct. 25. It applies to cases of Kirkland Signature Smoked Salmon in twin 12-ounce package, with Universal Product Code 0 96619 25697 6, Lot No. 8512801270 and best by date 11/13/2024.

According to the salmon recall, laboratory testing confirmed the recalled products contain Listeria monocytogenes.

Listeria monocytogenes is a bacteria that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems, the recall states.

Although Listeriosis — the infection caused by Listeria — may only cause short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea in healthy individuals, it can lead to miscarriages and stillbirths in pregnant women.

This salmon was distributed to the Southeast Costco Distribution Center located in West Palm Beach, Florida and Costco Warehouse stores in Florida between Oct. 9 and Oct. 13, 2024.

To date there have been no reported illnesses linked to the recall, the salmon recall states.

Consumers who have purchased the salmon products should not eat them and are “urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund or discard the product,” the Costco recall states.

Meanwhile, in August, Costco also recalled certain Kodiak Power Waffles Buttermilk & Vanilla 40 count and Rock River Cattle Co. Smokey Hibachi Skirt Steaks.
