Portable charger company myCharge issued a recall in June for more than 560,000 myCharge Power Hub All-In-One 10,000 mAh portable chargers sold at Costco.

The company initiated the recall over concerns the recalled myCharge portable chargers could overheat while charging, posing fire and burn hazards.

Costco received 115 returns of the recalled portable chargers, according to the recall, which says customers mentioned melting, expanding, smoking, fire, burning, exploding or sparking.

Costco recalls Tillamook cheese slices after plastic discovered

Costco issued a recall at the beginning of June for certain Tillamook Colby Jack and Tillamook Monterey Jack cheese slices after Tillamook discovered plastic pieces in a limited quantity of Monterey Jack Cheese used to produce the recalled products

The recall involves Tillamook cheese slices with a best-by date of Oct. 22, 2024, that were produced for Costco locations in the Northwest region of the United States.

“Through standard food safety and quality processes, Tillamook has identified a very small quantity of gray and black plastic pieces that may be present in a limited quantity of monterey jack cheese,” the Costco recall says.

In a letter to Costco members, Tillamook says it initiated the recall out of an abundance of caution. It advised they not eat the recalled cheese slices and return them to their local Costco to receive a refund.

Costco falsely promises to disclose if an item is cheaper in store than online, class action claims

A Costco member filed a class action lawsuit against the retailer earlier this month over claims it falsely promises to disclose to its customers if an item is cheaper in store than on its website.

The member argues that, despite the alleged promise, Costco marks up products it sells on its website and then fails to tell consumers.

“Despite its express representation, Costco routinely omits this material message and fails to disclose to consumers in those instances that they will be paying more for a product sold on Costco.com than if they had purchased the same exact product in-store at their local Costco Warehouse,” the Costco class action says.

Costco sells fragrance free baby wipes containing unsafe levels of PFAS, class action says

A pair of consumers filed a class action lawsuit against Costco in June over claims the company marketed and sold Kirkland-branded fragrance free baby wipes containing unsafe levels of PFAS.

The class action lawsuit, which also names product manufacturer Nice-Pak Products Inc. as a defendant, argues Costco represents its Kirkland Signature Baby Wipes, Fragrance Free baby wipes is made with only naturally derived ingredients despite allegedly containing PFAS.

“Defendants market the product as conferring certain health, safety and use benefits, when testing demonstrates that the product actually contains significant levels of unsafe, toxic PFAS chemicals,” the Costco class action says.

Our daughter is 19 months old and we have used these wipes on and off since she was born. This is very disappointing.

  2. Devynn Blackmore says:

We’ve been using kirkland brand wipes for 2 years now on our daughter and she always gets rashes and I chalked it up to her having sensitive skin like me but now reading all these recalls and lawsuits I see that it wasn’t just a coincidence amd it was because of the wipes. Will be taking my most recent package back to Costco for a refund!

  3. Amber says:

I’ve been using these wipes on both of my kids (5 and 2) for years, they get rashes that I thought were from sensitive skin but now it makes sense that it was these wipes. Immediately threw them away.
