Costco announces recall for chicken products related to BrucePac recall

Costco recall overview: 

• Who: Costco members were advised of a recall for a pair of Rana-branded meal kits with chicken sold at Costco warehouse locations. 
• Why: The recall was issued in connection with a recent BrucePac recall for more than 11 million pounds of meat and poultry products over listeria contamination concerns.

Costco members are being advised of a recall involving a pair of Rana Meal Solutions-brand meal kits with chicken that was initiated in connection with a recent nationwide recall over listeria contamination concerns.  

Rana, in a letter to affected Costco members, advised customers not to consume the recalled chicken products and to return them to a local Costco location to receive a full refund. 

“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and ask you to please pass this letter along to anyone to whom a Pasta Meal Kit may have been given,” the company wrote. 

The recall involves Rana Chicken Truffle Carbonara meal kits and Tagliatelle Grilled White Chicken & Portobello Mushroom Sauce meal kits purchased between September and October 2024.

The recall is connected to an October recall by BrucePac for approximately 11,765,285 pounds of ready-to-eat meat and poultry products over concerns they may have been contaminated with listeria monocytogenes. 

The BrucePac recall involved meat and poultry products produced from May 31, 2024, to Oct. 8, 2024, and distributed to restaurants, schools and other institutions nationwide. 

Costco members were previously notified in August of two separate recalls involving waffles and skirt steak products sold at Costco warehouses nationwide.
