A popular lash growth serum from Rodan and Fields reportedly contains an ingredient unapproved by the FDA that may cause serious side effects, including Lash Boost red eyes. If you have purchased the Lash Boost lash growth serum by Rodan and Fields in the last four years, not knowing that it contained the drug ingredient isopropyl cloprostenate, you may be able to participate in an investigation.
This investigation is looking for residents of California or Washington state who have purchased Rodan and Fields Lash Boost serum in the past four years without knowing that it contained this unapproved ingredient. Consumers need not have experienced Lash Boost red eyes or other side effects to participate in the investigation.
Basics of Rodan and Fields Lash Boost
Lash Boost by Rodan and Fields is a lash growth serum used to grow and accentuate eyelashes. It’s marketed as capable of starting to improve lashes in as little as one month. Lash Boost is available for $150 from Rodan and Fields. Despite the high price point, the product and its drug ingredient isopropyl cloprostenate may cause Lash Boost red eyes and other significant problems.
Isopropyl cloprostenate is an artificial analog of compounds used in prescription drugs, but it has not been FDA-approved for use as a cosmetic additive. Certain manufacturers of other lash products have received FDA warning letters over their use of isopropyl cloprostenate in products. The FDA found that the products had been misbranded due to their lack of directions for supervised use, as well as because of misleading statements regarding their safety, efficacy, and potential side effects. The products were labeled with “passed the safety status in the US and EU,” but the FDA notes that these products had not actually been approved.
Lash Boost Red Eyes and Other Side Effects
While Rodan and Fields maintains that Lash Boost is not a drug, and that its ingredients aren’t associated with significant side effects, the FDA classifies isopropyl cloprostenate as a drug ingredient, linked with several complications.
A number of side effects may be linked with the popular isopropyl cloprostenate–containing lash growth serum, including Lash Boost red eyes. Other side effects of isopropyl cloprostenate can include dry eye, eye irritation or inflammation, iris color change, macular edema, and low intraocular pressure, among others.
Filing a Lash Boost Lawsuit
A Lash Boost class action lawsuit investigation has been launched into claims against Rodan and Fields, alleging that the company’s marketing materials contained misleading representations suggesting that their Lash Boost product is not a drug and the ingredients are not associated with significant side effects—despite the fact that the FDA states otherwise.
If you have purchased Rodan and Fields Lash Boost within the last four years, were not aware that it contained unapproved drug ingredients, and that knowledge would have affected your decision to purchase the product or not, you may be able to join this Lash Boost class action lawsuit investigation. Participating in the investigation does not necessitate having suffered from Lash Boost red eye side effects or other complications.

16 thoughts onConsumers May Experience Lash Boost Red Eyes from Popular Serum
Started using R&F lash boost for 3 weeks and my eyes are red, burning and crusty. Went to the eye doctor who diagnosed me with conjunctivitis and gave me antibiotics and steroid drops. The only thing I have changed is the lash boost serum.
I’ve been absolutely miserable since February. I’ve been experiencing orbital cellulitis, dermatitis and blepharitis off and on since February. I’ve been to the doctor 4 times and I’m about to meet with a a skin specialist on Tuesday to hopefully find some relief. I never use chemicals especially on my face. Lash boost was the only thing I tried and it was because I was talked into it from a friend. I never saw any disclaimers about negative side effects. I fear that I’m going to have this eye condition for the rest of my life.
Hi everyone! Istarted using R&F lash booster for 3 days now. I noticed that both of my eyes are getting itch and turned red. I was so scared cause I didnt know what to do. Thank you to all of your comments, I will definitely stop using it now!
I started using lash boost for the first time about a week ago and my eye are blood shot, itchy and crusty.
Had to seek medical help as diagnosed with orbital cellulitis and dermatitis after using. I’ve noticed no expiration dates on the tubes or ingredients but live in IN.
