Zoloft birth defect lawsuit

Many women have taken Clomid to treat infertility. While many women are prescribed the fertility drug by their doctor, many buy Clomid online. What patients may not know is that timing is extremely important when taking Clomid, and if a woman takes the fertility drug at the wrong time, she could be putting her child at risk of being born with a birth defect. As a result, many women have filed a Clomid lawsuit against the drug manufacturer for failing to warn against Clomid birth defects.

About Clomid

Clomid is a fertility drug that is prescribed to women in order to stimulate ovulation. The idea is for the woman to use the drug in order to encourage conception but to have the drug exit the body before it can affect the fetus.

Women who buy Clomid online are significantly more likely to give birth to a child with Clomid birth defects. One study found that Clomid use without supervision increases the risk of giving birth to a child with a birth defect by 300 percent. This study was performed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which looked at the connection between birth defects and clomiphene (Clomid). It was not known whether or not these birth defects were caused by underlying conditions.

Clomid Birth Defects

Patients have found that Clomid can cause infants to be born with the following birth defects:

  • Anencephaly (baby born without parts of brain and skull)
  • Coarctation of the aorta (narrowing of the aorta)
  • Craniosyntosis (premature fusion of an infant’s skull sutures)
  • Esophageal atresia (baby born without part of the esophagus)
  • Omphalocele (baby’s abdominal organs are outside of the body)
  • Septal heart defect (hole in the wall of the heart)

As a result of these Clomid birth defects, many families have chosen to file a Clomid lawsuit against the drug manufacturer for failing to warn against these birth defects. A Clomid lawsuit may be able to help a family pay for the unexpected costs that can come with a birth defect such as special education, surgery, and any other potential costs.

Claims may include negligence, failure to warn, and more.

Women who buy Clomid online may not be aware that Clomid can lead to serious, life-altering birth defects because of the timing with which they used the drug. Women who took Clomid or Serophene may be able to join a class action lawsuit.

In general, Clomid lawsuits are filed individually by each plaintiff and are not class actions.
