Bupropion, Budeprion XL Class Action Settlement
By Kimberly Mirando
A class action lawsuit settlement has been approved involving individuals who purchased the antidepressant Bupropion and/or Budeprion, generic versions of Wellbutrin that are manufactured by Impax. The Budeprion settlement will not provide money to Class Members, but it will change the way the antidepressant is marketed.
The Bupropion class action lawsuit claims that the two formulations of extended-release bupropion hydrochloride (“BP XL”) do not work as well as the brand equivalent, Wellbutrin XL, marketed by GlaxoSmithKline. Specifically, the Plaintiffs argued that the BP XL product, in some instances (1) was less effective than the brand product; (2) resulted in side effects not experienced with the brand product; and (3) may have caused confusion in the marketplace because Defendants’ BP XL prescribing insert used the trade name Budeprion XL instead of the generic name.
Impax denies these claims, but has agreed to a class action lawsuit settlement to avoid ongoing litigation.
Class Members of the Budeprion XL class action lawsuit settlement include all individuals who purchased and/or paid for (in whole or in part) Bupropion Hydrochloride XL (150 mg) and/or Budeprion XL (300 mg) manufactured by Impax.
The Budeprion XL settlement will require the Defendants to permanently cease the key practices alleged in the class action lawsuit. This includes removing the allegedly misleading labeling information, further disclosing the drug’s testing procedures, monitoring the investigation of consumer complaints, improving quality control and publishing information on future voluntary recalls.

Please add me. I have to have all my teeth pulled because of this medication. I need to find a lawyer to help me go after this company. They should have to pay for all the work I need to have done.
Took Buproprion, started self-harming. When I told my Dr he increased dosage. I started having seizures, was put into medically induced coma in 2020, on ventilator for 4 days after having 9 seizures. I have severe seizures about once a month now. I had a seizure yesterday, had to go to hospital for head, eye, shoulder injury. ER Dr started me on Keppra & told me about Wellbutrin causing them.
I toook both and lost almost all my teeth I want to be part of the lawsuit
I’m having the same problem. My dentist just told me that he needs to pull all of my teeth. I need to get implant cause there’s not a chance in how I’m doing dentures at 52 years old. Were you able to find a lawyer that would take your case? I am just starting to call around to different lawyers to see if they would take the case. It’s going to cost me $30,000 to have my whole mouth done. Plus I need six bone graphs because it has eaten away a lot of of my bone. If you have any information that could help me or lead me in the right direction that would be very helpful. Please text me if you don’t mind. My name is Terri. My number is.724-766-6777
