The Bose SoundSport Free Wireless headphones may have a shortened lifespan, according to customer reviews.

While the Bose name is generally associated with high manufacturing quality in audio products, the Bose SoundSport Free Wireless headphones have purportedly had a great deal of difficulty maintaining a stable battery life.

Bose SoundSport Free wireless are a line of moisture resistant, rechargeable, Bluetooth-based headphones that are extremely popular. People—particularly those accustomed to vigorous workout routines where having available music is critical—are often willing to pay quite a bit for good quality.

Bose SoundSport Free wireless headphones retail for around $150-200 per pair and come with a standard one-year warranty.

Several customers, assuming the quality of the Bose brand, have invested in Bose SoundSport Free wireless headphones and been very disappointed. The complaints don’t seem to center around audio quality, which the company is famous for providing. Instead, the consumer reports reveal that the device seems to not hold up to the marketing promise of a long battery life.

Some Bose consumers have said that the headphones failed to completely charge from the very first day. While the company alleges in its marketing efforts that lengthy use of the product without the need to recharge can be expected—5-7 hours at least—many reviewers are saying this benchmark is not being met.

One reviewer indicated that their SoundSport headphones never gave them more than 2 hours of use when fully charged.

Additionally, some people say that they either the device will not charge or hold a charge after a few months of use. The Bose SoundSport Free wireless headphones have purportedly had enough difficulty after about a year of use that at least one customer wondered whether the battery failure was programmed to fail after the warranty period had passed.

Another common complaint that is seen when looking over reviews of the wireless headphones is inconsistent performance. Some attribute this to the possibility that they may not be as moisture-resistant as advertised. To those who wear them when working out and perspiring profusely, having as close to waterproof devices as possible is an important feature.

A lot of performance inconsistency with this product seems to have no attributable causation, according to several reviews. A purchaser may have a good experience with a lengthy charge on one occasion and difficulty turning the headphones or getting them to hold a charge with the next use.

A few consumers report good, unquestioning service from Bose, even outside warranty parameters. Others do not indicate this is the case and feel with the high cost of the product, more effort should be made to guarantee the headphones with simple replacement should issues arise.

Another option to consider is joining a Bose SoundSport class action investigation. Purchasers may be able to recover their full investment in Bose SoundSport Free Wireless headphones if they operate at anything less than what the manufacturer lead them to reasonably expect.
