Ben’s Original recalls rice products due to potential stone contamination

Ben’s Original has initiated a recall of specific rice products due to the risk of small stones being present in the packages. These stones, originating from the rice farm, could potentially cause oral or digestive injuries if ingested.

The recall was announced on Oct. 10, 2025, and was subsequently published by the FDA on Oct. 14. It affects specific batches of Ben’s Original Long Grain White, Whole Grain Brown and Long Grain & Wild Ready Rice. 

The affected products have batch codes and best by dates listed on the bottom seal of the package. Retailers such as HEB, Target, United Markets, Amazon and Piggly Wiggly may have received these products. 

According to the recall notice, the small stones pose a possible risk of oral or digestive tract injury if consumed.

Recall batch an isolated issue, Ben’s Original states

The recall notice emphasizes that this issue is isolated to the specified batches and does not affect other Ben’s Original products. The company is committed to maintaining transparency and trust by removing the affected products from store shelves and informing consumers. 

“If you believe you have purchased this product, please do not consume it,” the recall notice advises. Consumers are encouraged to contact Ben’s Original Consumer Care for returns and inquiries.

Ben’s Original is actively working to address the situation by removing the impacted products from distribution and notifying consumers. 

The company has provided a contact number, 1-800-548-6253, for consumers to initiate returns and address any questions. The line is available from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. CST Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. CST on weekends.

Ben’s Original says it has not received any reports of injury or illness related to the recall so far. The company is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes lead to class action lawsuits.
