Aquasana water filter water faucetDo you have an Aquasana leaking faucet that has caused damage to your home? The company makes a reverse osmosis system that includes allegedly defective water filters that can break and cause flooding, sometimes within just weeks of installation.

Aquasana offers a variety of whole house filters, water softeners, drinking water filters, shower filters and clean water machines. Formerly known as Sun Water Systems, Aquasana became a subsidiary of A.O. Smith Corporation in August 2016.

According to report from dissatisfied customers, the Aquasana leaking faucet is caused by the breaking of locking tabs intended to hold the water filters in place for the reverse osmosis system. These tabs allegedly break with just the slightest stress that induces tiny cracks. The only stress placed on the tabs is the fluctuating water pressure that moves through the system and by removing filters to replace them with new ones.

The purpose of the locking tabs is to create a watertight seal for the filters. When the locking tabs crack and break, the water leaks and has been known to damage countertops, floors, and other items within the water’s reach.

Aquasana Leaking Faucet Never Recalled

Despite numerous reports of Aquasana leaking faucet issues, the company has not made any effort to remove the defective product from the market. In the meantime, consumers say they are seeing their homes damaged by significant flooding when these allegedly defective filter locking tabs fail.

Unfortunately, the cracks in the tabs are undetectable to the consumer, who expects the water filters to perform adequately and without fail.

Aquasana released a newly designed system, and consumers who had endured bad flooding experiences with the old system thought the issues had been fixed with the release of the new design. According to several online testimonies, the newly designed reverse osmosis systems develop the same leaks.

Aquasana insists its products are certified to the highest industry standards, but Aquasana allegedly could be concealing the defect and the fact that the defect will only become known to a consumer who purchases and installs the poorly performing product. Several dissatisfied Aquasana customers report that despite complaining directly to the company about the Aquasana leaking faucet and subsequent property damage, Aquasana has not recalled the product, nor has it warned the public of the potential leak.

The reverse osmosis system retails for around $275. Installation occurs under the kitchen sink, and a separate faucet to dispense the filtered water fits on top of the sink.

Among the retailers selling the Aquasana reverse osmosis system is Amazon, which has published several reviews citing the leaks. One reviewer wrote, “The quality gets worse and worse.” Another reviewer on Amazon wrote, “Each and every time I replace the water filters (which is every six months) I get huge leaks… Save your money and invest in something else.”

If your home incurred property damage due to an Aquasana leaking faucet, you could qualify to participate in an Aquasana lawsuit.

We had exactly the same thing as the user Karin above had. Caused extensive flooding damaging hardwood floors, sub flooring, the room down below. Now I get to practice my drywall skills on my nice house. This probably results in black mold for people too eventually.

The aquasana faucet leaks out of the breathe hole on top of the sink for hours every time it is used. It floods the counter and has caused damage to our cabinet and to the grout around the tiles behind the sink. We contacted the company shortly after getting the system and all they did was send a new faucet. We stopped using it because of the flooding problem.

Okay so… we just had the filter housing explode on our Aquasana system. I have pictures. How do I join this? Is has cause extensive damage to our basement.
