AiTuiTui teething toy recall overview:

  • Who: AiTuiTui is recalling approximately 49,410 Pull String Teething Toys.
  • Why: The toys pose a choking hazard due to silicone strings that can reach the back of the throat.
  • Where: The recall is effective in the United States.

AiTuiTui has issued a recall for more than 49,000 of its Pull String Teething Toys due to a significant choking risk.

The teething toy recall was announced on Jan. 29 by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The CPSC is aware of 15 choking incidents and two cases where children bit off pieces of the silicone strings.

The affected product is an off-white disc-shaped teething toy with either a red or blue ball in the center and six colorful pull string tentacles. The product, identified as “Model: 688-59,” also features three free-spinning rings and soft push buttons.

According to the recall, the silicone strings violate mandatory toy safety standards, which could lead to respiratory distress or even death if lodged in a child’s throat.

The recall was prompted by the toys’ silicone strings, which are smaller than allowed by safety standards and can reach the back of a child’s throat, posing a severe choking hazard.

The toys were sold on Amazon between August 2022 and September 2025 for approximately $10.

Consumers urged to destroy recalled teething toys for safety

Consumers who have purchased the AiTuiTui Pull String Teething Toys are advised to stop using them immediately.

The recall notice instructs consumers to cut and discard the string tentacles, mark the main body of the toy as “DESTROYED” with a permanent marker, and email a photograph of the destroyed product to Vanfun for a full refund.

The toys were sold online by Shenzhen Mailesi Technology Co. Ltd., doing business as Vanfun, and manufactured in China.

Vanfun is offering a full refund to consumers who follow the recall instructions. For more information, consumers can contact Vanfun via email at [email protected].

So far, 15 choking incidents and two incidents of children biting off pieces of silicone string have been reported. The company is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes lead to class action lawsuits.

In June, Amazon recalled 100,000 kitchen faucets sold under the brands Vfauosit, Kicimpro and Basdehen due to potential lead contamination.
