A class action settlement is now accepting claims for owners of Craftsman Riding Lawn Tractors who bought their mowers at a Sears location. The Craftsman riding lawnmower class action settlement resolves allegations that the tractors contain a fuel line defect that poses a fire risk.

If you purchased a new Craftsman Riding Lawn Tractor from Sears Roebuck and Co. between Jan. 1, 2009 and Dec. 31, 2015, you could get a free inspection, repair and/or up to $125 in cash from the Sears class action settlement.

Emails regarding the Sears riding lawnmower class action settlement have gone out with Notice ID numbers. Make sure to check your inbox if you bought one of the covered riding lawn tractors.

Plaintiffs Rebecca Rysewyk, Mary E. Rood, Brian Van Vooren, and Katie Smith filed the Sears Craftsman class action lawsuit in May 2015 over claims that certain riding lawnmowers are prone to gas leaks that can cause the vehicles to ignite while in use or just after use.

The Sears riding lawn tractor class action lawsuit says that Van Vooren experienced the fire risk firsthand after mowing his property and parking the mower outside of his detached garage. Apparently, the lawn tractor ignited just as Van Vooren walked away.

Shortly after, the plaintiff allegedly discovered that his garage was on fire, which ended up melting the siding of his house and burned the back of his truck.

Likewise, Smith claims her husband was on a Craftsman Riding Lawn Tractor when it caught on fire. Although Mr. Smith was able to extinguish the blaze, the Sears class action lawsuit claims that no compensation was offered to the couple for the defective lawnmower.

According to the Sears Craftsman Riding Lawn Tractor fuel defect class action settlement, Class Members can receive an inspection and repair of any loose fuel lines. In addition, those lawnmower owners who have already paid out-of-pocket for fuel defect related expenses can get reimbursed up to $125.

Sears denies the allegations but agreed to settle the litigation after three years to avoid further expense.

Class Members who want to opt out of or object to the Sears lawnmower class action settlement have until Nov. 19, 2018 to do so.

  2. James Rafine says:

Its all BULLSHIT I filed my claim as instructed claim #crg103162 within days of getting the card in the mail, Never Heard another word about it or received any so called $125 as they said we would get,
Don’t bother me with this scam shit again.

  3. Susan says:

I received a postal card from CRLT Settlement, located in Philadelphia, PA with regard to filing a claim against Sears riding tractor. On October 8, 2018, I filled a Claim detail #CRG104078, Claim Code 382215, with my address information, and Notice ID: #CRL2386438. The Model #917.250810 and Serial # 041315A010091, and the date purchased was July 2015.
As of this date April 17, 2020, I have not received the $125.00 promised on the postcard. There was no communications from CRLT to date. I firmly believe that the Law Firm pocketed most of the Settlement from Sears and left we the people without our $125.00 promised on the postcard. as to the posted comments, a few stated that they had received the $125.00. I firmly believe that a Class Actions Suit should be brought against the Pennsylvania CRLT Lawyers.
    Very Disappointed!

  4. Richard Roeth says:

This is a scam. I followed all required steps to claim my 125.00 refund, I had my tractor repaired at a lawn mower repair shop. Never received squat! My serial number/model number were included in the affected models. I should have received compensation. What a scam, guess the attorneys received the benefits from this class action suit. There is no way I should have been denied this compensation. Enjoy your class action new found benefits LLP’s!

  5. Duane Schenck says:

I have a postcard notice for the CRLT settlement with a NOTICE ID NUMBER of CRL1406948 and a CONFIRMATION CODE of 790049 and have been waiting to hear something on the class action settlement for years. So can anybody advise me on what this post card information means? Was there ever a resolve on this claim? I was instructed to wait for notification and have been waiting for YEARS! Can somebody please let me know what my next steps should be?

Thanks in advance for whatever information can be provided.
