Onglyza Tied to Signs of Heart FailureSigns of heart failure can be devastating, especially if a patient is not able to get medical attention immediately. A new lawsuit has been filed on behalf of a patient who began to experience signs of heart failure which are allegedly tied to the use of popular medication, Onglyza.

The plaintiff in that signs of heart failure lawsuit says that the defendants who are responsible for the packaging, advertising, promotion, labeling and distribution of Onglyza are responsible for the severe side effects. The patient in the lawsuit allegedly ingested Onglyza and suffered signs of heart failure and unexpected injuries as a result.

The primary purpose of Onglyza and similar medications is to lower the blood sugar levels for those patients who have been diagnosed with type-2 diabetes.

The plaintiff in the lawsuit says that the manufacturers were responsible for informing the medical community and patients about the risks of these medications, including signs of heart failure. By failing to do so, the plaintiff claims, the drug manufacturers put people unnecessarily at risk.

The lawsuit says that the defendants had knowledge about the true relationship between the medication and heart failure, cardiac failure, congestive heart failure and fatal incidents related to those events, yet continued to promote the medication as a safe as well as effective treatment of type-2 diabetes.

The signs of heart failure lawsuit also accuses the defendants of failing to carry out appropriate safety testing on the medication before marketing it to consumers and the medical community.

The plaintiff in the lawsuit suffered heart failure in January of 2012, requiring a long stay in the hospital and extensive treatment. The lawsuit alleges that the plaintiff also sustained inconvenience, pain and suffering, mental and bodily injuries, decreased earning capacity and loss of earnings, and extensive medical expenses.

The signs of heart failure lawsuit says that the defendants were aware of this risk but failed to disclose it in any of the marketing materials to the plaintiff or the medical community, putting all potential users at risk. The plaintiff claims that she will continue to incur expenses and obligations for testing, medical care and treatment directly tied to the heart issue brought about by taking Onglyza.

Any patient who uses Onglyza and notices surprising side effects should at least share these issues with their physician. The patient’s doctor may recommend that the patient discontinue use of the drug until the connection can be further explored.

Those patients who have suffered heart failure due to taking Onglyza might qualify to file a lawsuit for recovery. Many patients have had to come forward with legal action to file a lawsuit against the manufacturers of drugs after learning that their severe injuries have changed their life forever.

The Signs of Heart Failure Lawsuit is Case No. 5:18-CV-00369-KKC filed in the United States District Court, District of Arizona.
