According to sources, conspirators include foreign banks that financed Iran’s role in condoning acts of terrorism during the war in Iraq. Banks allegedly involved in the illegal acts of terrorism include BNO Paribas of France, Germany’s Commerzbank, and HSBC of the United Kingdom.

U.S. law allows victims who have suffered from terrorist attacks to sue those responsible for conducting them. According to U.S. law:

“Any nation of the United States injured in his or her person, property, or business by reason of an action of international terrorism, or his or her estate, survivors, or heirs, may sue therefor in any appropriate district court of the United States and shall recover threefold the damages he or she sustains and the cost of the suit, including attorney’s fees.” (18 U.S. Code § 2333)

Under federal law, veterans, servicemembers, or their family members may have the right to file an anti terrorism lawsuit against these alleged conspirators.

Overview: Filing an Anti Terrorism Lawsuit

According to reports, RAMS, IEDs, and EFPs were purportedly supplied by Iran along with several different kinds of ammunition. IEDs and EFPs were manufactured in large quantities in Iranian factories.

An IED is an Improvised Explosive Device that is used as a roadside bomb. Having been extensively used in both Iraq and Afghanistan, they have been largely responsible for a “large share of coalition deaths.” According to reports, they were responsible for 63% of coalition deaths from the beginning of the Iraq War through 2007 and 66% percent of deaths were caused by IEDs in the war in Afghanistan since 2001.

According to the New York Times, EFPs or Explosively Formed Penetrators were “the most lethal weapon American forces faced in Iraq.” This device was known to be extremely easy to disguise as trash or rocks. This device could also travel 100 yards or more, still intact, and could pierce armor.

Improvised Rocket Assisted Munitions, known as IRAMs or RAMs are rocket- propelled bombs. They could be deployed by a remote control and could be launched from the back of a truck. RAMs are given their power by 107mm rockets, sources report.

According to the former Chairmen of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Adm. Mike Mullen, “Iran is very directly supporting extremist Shia groups, which are killing our troops…They are shipping high-tech weapons in there- RAMS, EFPs- which are killing our people and the forensics prove that.”

Iranian sanctions have been enacted by Congress to try and prevent Iran from manufacturing terrorist weapons, sponsoring terrorism, and engaging in terrorist acts. Sanctions were set in place to try and prevent Iran from obtain funding that would make it capable of deploying lethal weapons and from manufacturing them. However, by working with banks and finding financial corporations that were willing to work with them, Iran has allegedly been able to get around the placement of these sanctions by offering large profits.
