A settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit that alleges Grand Central Bowling in Oregon charged a two percent fee to customers for food, drinks or bowling without their knowledge.
Under the terms of the proposed Oregon Grand Central Bowling class action settlement, customers may be entitled to a cash payment of $40 each.
Plaintiff Kevin Mehrens filed the Oregon Grand Central Bowling class action lawsuit in November 2017, claiming the Portland bowling alley misleads consumers about the price of menu items.
“Each day, defendant misleads its lounge customers about the true price of its food and beverages menu items,” the Oregon Grand Central Bowling class action lawsuit alleges. “Customers don’t realize they’ve been overcharged (if they realize it at all) until it’s too late, after their cards have already been swiped or their cash has been taken.”
Mehrens, a Portland, Ore. resident, alleges that he visited Oregon Grand Central Bowling in Oct. 2017. He says he was seated at the downstairs bar and ordered items off the bar’s menus. When he reviewed his receipt, however, he allegedly noticed that the bowling alley charged him two percent more than the amount advertised on its menus.
“A private investigator, and other potential witnesses, later confirmed that plaintiff was not alone – defendant systematically misrepresents the cost of its menu items to all its lounge customers who order from defendant’s downstairs bar, upstair lounge, and bowling alley,” the Oregon Grand Central Bowling class action lawsuit alleges.
The fee was adequately advertised in the bowling alley’s dining area, according to the Oregon Grand Central Bowling class action lawsuit.
The company allegedly received multiple complaints about the overcharge but failed to do anything about it.
Mehrens alleges these overcharges add up to tens of thousands of dollars in wrongful profits each year for Oregon Grand Central Bowling.
An estimated 1,000 consumers are expected to file claims for compensation from the Oregon Grand Central Bowling class action settlement.

Please add me. I bowled an afternoon league during this time period . I mostly paid cash for an order of French fries most afternoons.
