Harmless Harvest ‘100% Raw’ Coconut Water Class Action Settlement

Harmless Harvest Inc. has agreed to settle a class action lawsuit alleging it used false or misleading advertisements to promote its coconut water products.

If you purchased Harmless Harvest coconut water between Sept. 30, 2011 and May 12, 2017, your rights may be affected by the coconut water settlement.

According to the coconut water class action lawsuit, Harmless Harvest falsely and misleadingly advertised and labeled its coconut water products as “100% Organic” and “USDA Organic.”

The Harmless Harvest coconut water products named in the false advertising class action lawsuit include:

• Harmless Harvest 100% Raw Coconut Water
• Harmless Coconut Water
• Harmless Harvest 100% Raw Coconut Water – Dark Cacao
• Harmless Harvest 100% Raw Coconut Water – Cinnamon & Clove
• Harmless Harvest 100% Raw Coconut Water – Fair Trade Coffee

The plaintiffs allege they paid more for the Harmless Harvest coconut water than they would have if the products were not promoted with allegedly deceptive or misleading advertisements and packaging.

The parties reportedly began mediation in June 2016 in effort to reach a coconut water class action settlement.

Harmless Harvest denies the allegations but agreed to settle the coconut water class action lawsuit to avoid the expense and uncertainty of ongoing litigation. The Harmless Harvest settlement was preliminarily approved on May 12, 2017.

The deadline to opt out of or object to the Harmless Harvest coconut water class action settlement is Sept. 29, 2017.

Who’s Eligible

Class Members of the coconut water settlement include anyone in the United States who purchased the Harmless Harvest coconut water products for personal use between Sept. 30, 2011 and May 12, 2017.

Potential Award

Harmless Harvest has agreed to make certain changes to its packaging. It will remove all “100% Organic” and “Raw” labels from the packaging.

NOTE: This coconut water settlement does not offer cash relief for eligible Class Members.
