Top Class Actions viewers are starting to receive checks in the mail from a settlement reached between the Federal Trade Commission and the maker of Pure Health and Genesis Today green coffee bean extract supplements for allegedly overstating the capabilities of its weight loss products.
According to comments and posts on the Top Class Actions Facebook page, Class Members who filed valid claims for the weight loss supplement settlement began receiving checks worth as much as $139.56 on June 1, 2017.
If you filed a claim for the Genesis Today green coffee bean extract supplement settlement, keep checking your mailbox because checks are on their way.
The FTC settlement resolves allegations that Genesis Today, Pure Health and Lindsey Duncan promoted the green coffee bean extract supplement as being able to help consumers lose weight without dieting or exercise. According to the lawsuit filed by the FTC, the defendants told consumers they could lose 17 pounds in just 12 weeks.
Under the settlement, purchasers of the weight loss supplement could get a partial or full refund if they filed a claim.
Class Members included all U.S. consumers who between April 1, 2012 and June 30, 2013 bought Pure Health or Genesis Today weight loss supplements.
The deadline to file a claim for the FTC Genesis Today settlement passed on Aug. 31, 2016.

The FTC Green Coffee Bean Extract Settlement is Federal Trade Commission v. Genesis Today, et al., Case No. 1:15-cv-00062, in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas.
UPDATE: December 2018, the FTC is mailing a second round of checks totaling more than $2.5 million to consumers from the Green Coffee Bean extract settlement.Â
