Are you an auto insurance policy holder for a company affiliated with The Hartford Financial Service Group or a healthcare provider who provided medical services to such a person? If so, you may be entitled to receive money from a class action settlement.According to the class action settlement notice, Hartford and its affiliates improperly charged auto insurance policy holders for medical claims made between January 1, 1990 and April 6, 2010 and paid healthcare providers less than the full amount owed for certain services and equipment in connection with these claims. The incorrect reductions were based on a flawed computerized bill review by the defendants that improperly determined that the amount of the healthcare provider’s charge exceeded the reasonable price for the healthcare service or equipment in question, alleges the class action lawsuit.Healthcare providers who meet the class requirements can a submit claim form to receive up to 60% of the amount of the disputed reduction. Policy holders who did not reimburse the healthcare provider for any of the disputed reduction can receive up to 60% of the amount of the disputed reduction, not to exceed more than $10. Claim forms must be postmarked by October 18, 2010. The deadline for excluding yourself from the class action settlement is August 6, 2010.

One thought on Hartford Pays Auto Insurance Policy Holders and Healthcare Providers for Incorrect Deductions
I have paid The Hartford over $20,000.00 for full coverage of my vehicles. Two years ago my 2006 Cadillac SRX received hail damage, a cracked windshield, dented hood and some small dents around the body that are not very apparent. and a cracked window guard. Although they did not deny my claim, they have paid zero out for my claim. They had two years to pay it out. I went back and forth with their Total Dept for two years. Tones of emails.
