Puritan's Pride vitamin supplements fake saleNutrient supplement company Puritan’s Pride is the subject of a class action lawsuit, with consumers alleging the company’s “Buy One Get One Free” promotion does not help customers save money.

The investigation is being conducted nationwide, with investigators analyzing any relevant information. The alleged Puritan’s Pride fake sale tactics includes making customers believe this is a limited time offer. However, some consumers say the company offers promotions for years at a time. So their alleged “sale” prices are actually their regular, everyday prices.

The Puritan’s Pride class action lawsuit filed by two California women, who allege the Puritan’s Pride fake sale practices had caused them to incur financial damages.

The women allege the company’s “Buy One Get One Free” or “Buy One Get Two Free” promotions had encouraged customers to needlessly buy products and manipulated patients into purchasing products not normally purchased by the consumers.

Furthermore, the women allege “that the marketing and advertising campaign for the Products was false, deceptive, and misleading because the ‘free’ Products promotion never stopped.”

The products customers purchased due to the alleged Puritan’s Pride fake sale promotions included: Garcinia Cambogia, Vitamin D3, Calcium, Zinc, Probiotic Acidophilus, Coconut Oil for Skin & Hair, Grapefruit 100% Pure Essential Oil.

However, the potential Puritan’s Pride class action lawsuit applies to all of the company’s products, which may have been subject to the alleged Puritan’s Pride fake sale practices.

Overview of Puritan’s Pride Fake Sale Allegations

Puritan’s Pride is nutritional supplement company that manufactures and sells vitamins, minerals, herbs, and other health supplements. According to the company’s website, Puritan’s Pride is dedicated to encouraging healthy lifestyle choices to its customers while helping upkeep their nutritional needs.

The company has been selling nutritional supplements for over 40 years, with its headquarters located in New York. Puritan’s Pride sells over 1,200 supplements including vitamins, minerals, and other herbal ingredients.

The potential Puritan’s Pride class action lawsuit states that federal law requires companies to carefully determine when to use bargain sales and that they “must be made with extreme care to avoid any possibility that consumers will be misled or deceived.”

In addition, federal guidelines state the word “free” can only apply to offers based on the original price. Consumers can reasonably assume they do not pay any money for the product, such as through upcharges applied to other purchases.

Furthermore, federal guidelines also state promotions should not be offered for over six months during a 12 month period, and that a 30 day break from the offers should take place before another promotion can take place.

By using “Buy One Get One Free” or “Buy One Get Two Free” promotions when these discounts are permanent, these alleged Puritan’s Pride fake sale practices may have resulted in unnecessary financial spending for customers.
