Top Class Actions viewers are starting to receive checks in the mail from a class action settlement that accused Lowe’s of violating federal law by firing workers after taking the maximum amount of medical leave under company policy.
According to comments and posts on the Top Class Actions Facebook page, Class Members who submitted timely and valid claims for the Lowe’s EEOC class action settlement began receiving checks worth as much as $12,000 on April 7, 2017.
If you filed a claim for the Lowe’s settlement, keep an eye on your mailbox because checks are on their way!
The $8.6 million class action settlement resolves allegations that Lowe’s Home Centers LLC violated the Americans with Disabilities Act by terminating workers who took medical leave in excess of store policy.
Under the terms of the settlement, Lowe’s also agreed to make sure its company policies are compliant with the ADA.
By agreeing to settle the class action, Lowe’s did not admit to any of the allegations.
Class Members included “all Lowe’s employees terminated at any time between January 1, 2004 and May 13, 2010, after having taken the maximum amount of leave then available under Lowe’s leave of absence policies.”
The deadline to file a claim for the Lowe’s EEOC class action settlement passed on October 9, 2016.

I just heard about the Lowe’s Lawsuit and was injured and fired in the year of 2009. Is it to late to be considered for the settlement?
