4-Tec Series Supercharged Sea-Doo Class Action Settlement
By Mike Holter

The Sea-Doo settlement will resolve a class action lawsuit, entitled Volkmar v. BRP USA Inc., that claims certain 2004-2007 4-Tec Series Supercharged Sea-Doo watercraft have a defective part that can fail during normal operation. Specifically, the class action lawsuit claims that the ceramic washers in the supercharger clutch assembly can fail and cause engine damage that requires new parts and labor to repair or replace.
BRP denies any wrongdoing but has agreed to a class action lawsuit settlement to resolve the litigation.
Class Members of the Sea-Doo class action lawsuit settlement include any person or business entity located in the United States who bought one of the following 2004-2007 4-Tec Series Supercharged Sea-Doo watercrafts in California:
RXP
RXT
GTX
125 Wake
Class Members of the Sea-Doo class action settlement can file a claim to receive the following class action settlement benefits:
* Extended warranty on the ceramic washers at issue in the class action lawsuit;
* Free repairs if the ceramic washers failed and caused engine damage but you have not yet had the damage repaired;
* Reimbursement if your Sea-Doo watercraft had engine damage caused by the ceramic washers and you had it repaired by a BRP authorized dealer; or
* Reimbursement for replacing the ceramic washers with metal washers.
To receive a reimbursement from the 4-Tec Series Supercharged Sea-Doo settlement, you must submit a claim form to the Settlement Administrator along with clear photocopies of proof of your out-of-pocket expenses. The Court has not yet set a deadline to submit a claim form, but it could be as early as January 28, 2013. Once the Court sets this deadline, the date will be available at www.CeramicWasherSettlement.com or by calling 866-903-0638.
Claim forms and more information on your rights in the Sea-Doo Watercraft Class Action Lawsuit Settlement can be found at www.CeramicWasherSettlement.com.

I know this old but Why in the USA these skis were sold in Australia too
Can I still submit a claim for this issue?
I have a 2008 Sea Doo RXT with the same problem and mine was bought in NC. Now it needs a new engine and it has less than 50 hrs. on it. Sea Doo basically told me I was out of luck. This is such a bunch of crap it is ridiculous! I have spent 2200.00 so far and it isn’t fixed. Sea Doo needs to fix their faulty product!!!!!!
This law suite is bull shit it means nothing I have not been able to find any one in or out of California who has been compensated by Seadoo. I bought a 2007 GTX and SeaDoo gave me a case # but no one wants to look at the ski with out charging a fee $100.00 +. I already paid $800.00 for the 100 hour recommended service, 9 hours after the service the shaft on the super charger broke and the pieces went into the crank case. All the Dealers I have talked to know nothing about this suit. They all agree there is a problem with the super chargers weather it is the ceramic washers or the upgraded titanium coated. I do not know who these lawyers are that handled this suite but I cannot reach them and SeaDoo is giving me the run around what the hell ????? Did Seadoo only sell the supercharged pwcs’ in california those of us who live in other states know better. The bottom line is DO NOT BUY a SUPERCHARGED SEADOO EVER! They all fail sooner or later due to a SuperCharger issue and it will cost you if you want it fixed.
