The Nationstar class action settlement resolves allegations that the mortgage loan servicer placed unwanted phone calls to consumers regarding a home loan in violation of the TCPA.

According to the lawsuit, individuals who wanted the phone calls to cease were required to speak with a live operator and give out personal information such as a social security number.

Nationstar insists that its customers agreed to receive phone calls from the mortgage loan provider, however it agreed to pay $12.1 million to avoid ongoing litigation.

Class Members included all U.S. consumers who received a robocall on their cell phone from Nationstar between October 2015 and March 2016.

The deadline to file a claim for the Nationstar Mortgage settlement passed on Apr. 11, 2016.

I received a check for $37.14 that’s dated June 15, 2022. I’m afraid to cash it so that I don’t get charged fees for a bounced check as others are stating. It’s from Huntington National Bank. I’d really like to know if it’s legit before I attempt to cash it.

  3. Regina Mosby says:

I thought I filed a claim for this, but didn’t receive any money. I had a mortgage with them also and they kept calling and mailing offers constantly, which was annoying and I though a waste of money. If something can be done now, please advise. Thankfully I refinanced and got away from them.
