The Snyder’s class action settlement resolves allegations that the snack food manufacturer added artificial colors and genetically modified ingredients to chips and pretzels labeled as “all natural.”

Some of the ingredients the Snyder’s class action lawsuit called into question included: maltodextrin, niacin, reduced iron, dextrose, thiamine mononitrate, riboflavin and folic acid.

According to lead plaintiff Todd Barron, these ingredients are not “natural” and by labeling snack food as such, reasonable consumers could easily be deceived.

Class Members included anyone in the U.S. who purchased Snyder’s of Hanover® Pretzels, Snyder’s of Hanover® Chips, Cape Cod® Potato Chips, Eatsmart Naturals® Snacks, Padrino’s® Chips, and Snack Factory Pretzel Crisps® for personal use between 2007 and 2016.

The deadline to file a claim for the Snyder’s natural class action settlement passed on July 5, 2016.
