Top Class Actions viewers are starting to receive checks in the mail from a class action settlement that claimed Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s credit card account holders received robocalls on their cell phones in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.
According to reader comments and posts on the Top Class Actions Facebook page,Class Members who submitted timely and valid claims for the Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s credit card TCPA settlement began receiving checks worth as much as $34.59 on Nov. 7, 2016.
If you filed a claim for the Department Stores National Bank class action settlement, keep an eye on your mailbox because checks are on their way!

The class action settlement resolves allegations that debt collection robocalls made to Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s store credit card consumers violated the TCPA.
Federal law prohibits retailers from using an automated dialer to place robocalls to consumers without their prior express consent.
The defendants named in this TCPA class action lawsuit denied the allegations but agreed to pay $12.5 million to avoid the further burden and expense of continued litigation.
Class Members included all U.S. residents who received a robocall on their cell phone between Sept. 3, 2009 and July 22, 2015 from Department Stores National Bank and/or FDS Bank in regards to a Macy’s or Bloomindale’s credit card account debt.
The deadline to file a claim for the Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s TCPA settlement passed on Dec.29, 2015.

UPDATE: On Jan. 16, 2018, Top Class Actions viewers started receiving a second round of settlement checks from the Macy’s Bloomingdale’s credit card TCPA class action settlement worth as much as $7.37.
