Suave Keratin Class Action LawsuitTop Class Actions readers are starting to receive checks in the mail from a class action settlement that accused the maker of Suave Keratin Infusion 30-Day Smoothing Kit of failing to warn customers of the potential risk of hair loss or scalp burns.

According to reader comments and posts on the Top Class Actions Facebook page, Class Members who submitted timely and valid claims for the Suave smoothing kit settlement Benefit Option A began receiving checks worth as much as $50 on July 5, 2016.

Class Members who filed for the Suave settlement Benefit Option C started receiving checks worth as much as $10,060 on July 12, 2016.

If you filed a claim for the Suave Keratin Infusion class action settlement, keep an eye on your mailbox because settlement checks are on the way!

The Suave Keratin class action settlement resolves allegations that the hair care product contained ingredients that caused customers to potentially suffer serious hair loss.

Under the terms of the settlement, Class Members could receive $10 as a one time reimbursement; up to $40 if they experienced injuries but couldn’t provide receipts related to the injuries; up to $800 if they could provide proof of treatment related to use of the product; or up to $25,000 for those Class Members who suffered significant injuries.

Class Members who opted for the one-time payout of $10, and up to $40 for undocumented injuries, were paid out starting on July 5.

Those who filed for Benefit Option C, started receiving checks worth as much as $10,060 on July 12.

Unilever denied all allegations that the Suave Smoothing Kit could cause hair or scalp injuries but agreed to pay $10.2 million to settle the class action.

The deadline to file a claim for the Suave Keratin Smoothing Kit class action settlement passed on Sept. 25, 2014.
