The Michael Kors outlet class action settlement resolves allegations that the fashion retailer attempted to mislead customers into making purchases based on false labeling.

According to the class action lawsuit, Michael Kors sells items made exclusively for Michael Kors Outlet stores but tricks consumers into believing the items were previously offered for purchase at a Michael Kors retail store.

In addition to paying $4.8 million, Michael Kors further agreed to change all “MSRP” labels with the word “value” on sales tags.

Class Members included all customers who bought at least one item at a Michael Kors Outlet store with a price tag that showed both an “MRSP” and an “Our Price” between July 25, 2010 and July 25, 2014.

Michael Kors denied the allegations but agreed to settle the lawsuit in order to avoid the cost of further litigation.

The deadline to file a Claim Form for the Michael Kors settlement passed on Mar 25, 2016.
