Top Class Actions readers are starting to receive checks in the mail from a class action settlement over claims that iYogi violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act by calling consumers even after they asked iYogi to stop.
According to reader comments and posts on the Top Class Actions Facebook page,Class Members who submitted timely and valid claims for the iYogi settlement began receiving checks worth as much as $40 on Apr. 29, 2016.
If you filed a claim for the iYogi class action settlement, keep checking your mailbox because you might be receiving your check soon!
The iYogi TCPA class action settlement resolves allegations that the technical support company violated federal law.
Plaintiffs Vicki Estrada, Patricia Goodman and Kim Williams-Britt filed the lawsuit over claims that iYogi “places telemarketing calls to consumers who have never been iYogi customers or otherwise interacted with them.”
Class Members include all U.S. residents who are current or former iYogi subscribers, who received a call on their cell phone from iYogi between Sept. 23, 2009 through Nov. 18, 2013.
iYogi doesn’t admit to any wrongdoing but agreed to the settlement in order to avoid the cost of further litigation.
The deadline to file a claim for the iYogi TCPA settlement passed on Jan. 2, 2016.
