The Six Continents Hotel call recording class action settlement resolves allegations that the company would monitor calls placed on its toll-free number from consumers asking about rates and reservations.

According to the plaintiffs, potential Six Continents customers were unaware that conversations they had with representatives on the reservation service line were being recorded. The class action lawsuit alleged that Class Members revealed sensitive personal information (including credit card numbers) during these phone calls.

Six Continents settlement Class Members included California residents who called the toll-free phone number of one of the following hotels at any time between Mar. 1, 2011 and July 18, 2012 and spoke with a representative:

  • Candlewood Suites
  • Crowne Plaza Hotels and Resorts

  • Priority Club Rewards

The defendant denied all allegations but agreed to settle the call recording lawsuit to avoid the risk and cost of further litigation.
