The makers of Naked Juice have been hit with a second class action lawsuit for allegedly lying about how “naked” their juices really are.
The latest Naked Juice class action lawsuit, filed Monday by Los Angeles consumer Gina Park, accuses Naked Juice and parent company PepsiCo, Inc. of marketing the juice products as “All Natural” when they actually contain “unnaturally processed and synthetic ingredients.”
Those ingredients include ascorbic acid, zinc oxide, cyanocoblamin and others.
“Consumers were deceived into believing that the unnatural products were in fact natural substances,” and have no idea they are created through “artificial and mechanical means,” the Naked Juice class action lawsuit states.
This is the second class action lawsuit filed over Naked Juice’s not-so-natural ingredients. The first also accuses Naked Juice and PepsiCo of deceptively marketing the juices as “All Natural” and “100% Juice” when they actually contain “substantial amounts” of synthetic substances.
Both Naked Juice class action lawsuits are seeking restitution and refunds for consumers, as well as an injunction ordering the companies to discontinue their deceptive marketing practices.
UPDATE 1: A class action lawsuit settlement has been reached. See how to file a claim for the Naked Juice Class Action Settlement.
UPDATE 2: Money from the $9 million Naked Juice class action lawsuit settlement was mailed to eligible Class Members on June 23, 2014. If you receive a payment, let us know!
