General Mills Fruit Snack Class Action Lawsuit

A class action lawsuit filed against General Mills (NASDAQ:
GIS) claims the company’s ads for fruit snacks mislead consumers into believing products like its Fruit Roll-Ups are healthy, when they actually contain unhealthy ingredients and little natural fruit.

The proposed Fruit Roll-Ups class action lawsuit takes aim at General Mills’ misleading marketing claims that its sugary fruit snacks are healthy. Marketing phrases like “a good source of vitamin C,” “low-fat” and “gluten-free” on the packaging for Fruit By The Foot, Fruit Roll-Ups and Fruit Gushers implies that the snacks promote good health, when they’re actually chock full of high-fructose corn syrup, preservatives and trans fats, the lawsuit says.

“Unfortunately for consumers and their children, all of [General Mills’] claims of healthfulness are false and misleading,” the General Mills fruit snacks lawsuit states.

The General Mills fruit snacks class action lawsuit is filed by the Center for Science and Public Interest (CSPI) on behalf of all U.S. consumers who purchased General Mills fruit snacks and other related products between October 15, 2005 and the present. It is seeking restitution and damages for Class Members, injunctive relief and more for Unfair, Deceptive and Fraudulent Acts and Practices; Misleading and Deceptive Advertising; Breach of Express Warranty and Unjust Enrichment.

I have purchased so many of these. To many to count. Where do I file?
Please add me I have five children and I have been purchasing these products thinking they’re healthy. Are School states that the children need to have a healthy snack for them to pack a snack and I’ve been packing these for years thinking they were healthy and I have purchased many of products since 2005 and I do have some of my receipts from the past few years. How do I get added for this action?
