Kashi GoLean CerealAre Kashi’s “All Natural” products really all they’re cracked up to be? Not according to a federal class action lawsuit, which claims Kashi Co. and Kellogg Company mislabeled their products as free of artificial ingredients, even though they knew that some of their GoLean and TLC products are “composed almost entirely of synthetic and unnaturally processed ingredients.” Some of these synthetic ingredients are even listed by the FDA as prescription drugs and federally declared hazardous substances, the Kashi class action lawsuit alleges.

Kellogg has already settled at least two false advertising class action lawsuits concerning the nutritional claims of its Rice Krispies Cereal (file a claim to receive up to $15 from the Rice Krispies settlement here) and its Frosted Mini Wheats.

According to the Kashi class action lawsuit, “Defendants inserted a spectacular array of unnaturally processed and synthetic ingredients to its so-called ‘all-natural’ products. For example, Kashi’s so-called ‘All Natural’ GoLean Shakes are composed almost entirely of synthetic and unnaturally processed ingredients.”

In fact, the Kashi class action continues, in many of Kashi’s products, “unnaturally processed and synthetic ingredients constitute the primary ingredients in these fraudulently-labeled ‘all-natural’ foods.”

Some of these “shocking” ingredients include synthetic substances listed as prescription drugs, irradiated substances, pesticides that are a by-product of uranium mining, and federally declared hazardous substances, the class action lawsuit states. Kashi also adds several ingredients that the FDA has declined to declare as a “safe” food additive, and several highly processed exitotoxins to its products that are hidden sources of MSG.

The Kashi class action lawsuit is brought on behalf of a proposed class of all U.S. consumers who purchased falsely labeled Kashi products in the U.S. It is seeking restitution and restoration of any money Class Members paid for these products, damages and penalties for Class Members, and other relief.

I am a cancer patient and this is one of a few products that my extremely intelligent nutritionist recommended because with my history I do not need any toxic crap in my body. What a betrayal to my health this is

Both Kashi and Bear Naked were good high quality brands until they were purchased by the big processed food company Kellogg.

It’s unfortunate that after the big processed food companies buy small companies they begin sneaking in less expensive ingredients and additives to save money and increase shelf life.

Since being diagnosed as “Pre Diabetic” I have been very careful choosing foods. So for the last 3 years I’ve been eating a box of Kashi Go Lean Toasted Berry Crumble every week, mostly breakfast, sometimes other meals. I have had headaches but no Dr has suggested it could have been the cereal. I am more than angry that I spent so much money and headache time on a product that is NOT AS ADVERTISED and actually bad for my health.

My wife has been eating the Berry version of the cereal and has had really bad migraines this week.

I knew it was attributable to the cereal, as I have done a lot of research into various migraine ‘triggers’ over the last couple of years or so.

What an evil company, my wife is suffering right now because she ate that crap!

    I ‘smelled a rat’ when I saw ‘Distributed by’…

I found this blog because I was looking for a link between my migraines and Kashi Go Lean Crisp Toasted Berry Crumble. Seems like when I eat this for breakfast is when I have killer Migraines.

I have been purchasing Kashi cereal and bars because I thought it was a healthy product and now I find out that it was a scam. How can we protect ourselves from these hungry and greedy companies.
