Court Denies Nevada Airport Car Rental Class Action Settlement

U.S. District Judge Larry R. Hicks denied the settlement agreement on June 27, 2011 for a number of reasons, including that he did not believe the settlement was fair or reasonable. He also noted “the substantial rate of non-responsiveness by the class.” Over 96%, or 2.411 million people, did not file claims.

I didn’t file because the settlement was worthless…it was just a gift to the companies that caused the problem in the first place; a discount voucher to use their service again? Worst settlement ever. Give the class some damn money and you’ll see better participation. Also, companies cut out bad behavior when their fined, not when their given sales promotions by courts! Show me the money!
