Solid Ground Financial Debt Settlement Class Action Lawsuit
By Kimberly Mirando
A class action lawsuit filed in Seattle, Washington claims Solid Ground Financial and JIO Reserves engaged in a conspiratorial and predatory scheme to make money off financially strapped Washington families by charging upfront fees for unfair and illegal “debt adjustment” services.
The class action lawsuit alleges debt consolidation company Solid Ground Financial and debt settlement company JIO Reserves, which carries out Solid Ground’s business activities, violated Washington statues designed to protect consumers from predatory, unfair and deceptive business activities by businesses that purport to assist Washington residents in managing, settling and/or paying their debts. These statues provide that a debt adjuster cannot charge a consumer an initial fee exceeding $25, cannot charge total fees of more than 15% of the debtor’s debt, and cannot “front-load” debt adjuster fees by retaining 15% of any one payment. The defendants violate all of these statutes, the class action claims, which constitute unfair and deceptive business practices under Washington law.
The Solid Ground Financial class action lawsuit is brought on behalf of all Washington State residents who entered into a debt settlement agreement involving Solid Ground Financial. It is seeking class certification, a final order declaring Solid Ground’s and JIO’s agreements with class members void; damages equaling three times the amount of loss suffered by each class member; and a judgment amount equaling all payments class members made, less those amounts distributed to creditors. It is also seeking an injunction barring Solid Ground and JIO from engaging in further unlawful business activities.

I just wanted to drop you a quick note & make you aware of the absolutely fantastic service I have received from your employee, Jalecia Johnson. I speak with her every couple of weeks, & it is an absolute pleasure. She is very caring & understanding, & has been sympathetic to my unique situation I am in. It’s very refreshing these days to know that there are still people out there that really care about their jobs, & treat clients the way they should be. Jalecia has made me feel calm when I was freaking out & has gone above & beyond anything I could expect or ask for in so far as someone helping me with my finances & to get me out of debt. She is kind, caring, helpful, knowledgeable, & considerate. Anyway, I sincerely appreciate all the help & guidance she has given me, & we are working hard to get my debtors paid off. You have a superstar employee in Jalecia
Have been paying Solid Ground Financial since February for two payday loans that I had. However, I have still been getting a bill from one of the companies like they haven’t paid anything to them! Where has my payment of 192.50 been going???! Have been getting the run around when I call, how do I file a claim against them?
