If you are a current or former Cox Internet or TV residential customer, then you may have a claim for monthly overcharges.

Cox is facing allegations of engaging in a bait-and-switch scheme where Cox charged customers more for its Internet and TV service plans than Cox had advertised and promised.

Some customers complain that Cox promised that the monthly prices for its service plans would be at quoted fixed rates for a one- or two-year service agreement or promotional period, but then Cox increased the price in the middle of the promised fixed-rate period.

These customers allege that Cox deceptively increased its prices mid-agreement in the following ways:

1. For customers with Internet or TV service, Cox allegedly annually increased the price of the service plan in the middle of fixed-price agreements. Customers complain that Cox increased the base rate of their service plans each year—even in the middle of a promised fixed-price one- or two-year promotional agreement.

2. For customers with TV service, Cox also allegedly increased so-called surcharges in the middle of the fixed-price agreement. Customers complain that Cox would annually increase two disguised monthly television service charges, which Cox called the “Broadcast Surcharge” and the “Regional Sports Surcharge,” in the middle of a promised one- or two-year fixed-price agreement.

To date, Cox has allegedly collected hundreds of millions of dollars in overcharges from its Internet and TV subscribers nationwide through this deceptive price increase scheme. The law firm handling this investigation is working to recover money for Cox subscribers through a process called arbitration. The law firm will file many individual arbitrations separately on behalf of Cox subscribers to recover the alleged overcharges.

Do you qualify?
