mcdonald's fast food restaurantMcDonald’s does not do enough to prevent violence towards its employees, according to a recent lawsuit.

The McDonald’s lawsuit was filed by Chicago employees who say they were affected by violence coming from customers during their time of employment.

The employees say they and their coworkers are at risk of being attacked on a daily basis while they are at work.

The plaintiffs claim that they have experienced a range of violent events including one case when a customer jumped over the counter and brandished a gun at employees.

In another instance, a customer allegedly jumped over the counter, removed their clothing, and threw kitchen equipment at employees.

Unfortunately, these instances are not the only acts of violence or threats of violence that McDonald’s employees are reportedly faced with.

According to the McDonald’s lawsuit, employees suffer physical and psychological harm from this violence. The employees who continue to work at the restaurants say that they fear they will continue to be subjected to violent attacks.

The McDonald’s employee lawsuit says these acts of violence are part of a pattern both throughout Chicago and around the country.

The employees note that in the Chicago area alone, around 20 emergency service calls are made from McDonald’s restaurants per day. Additionally, the employees note that violence in Chicago McDonald’s locations is regularly reported in the news.

According to the employees, there is a news report of violence at a McDonald’s restaurant nationwide about every 36 hours. However, most of these crimes go unreported, so the violence may be more frequent.

The McDonald’s violence negligence lawsuit claims that McDonald’s as a company is aware of the attacks against its workers, but does little to protect employees as they put workers at risk for the sake of profits.

The plaintiffs provide an example of how the company puts employees at risk for the sake of profits, noting that the company keeps stores open late at night. The risk of crime reportedly increases significantly at night. The company allegedly does not implement best practices for keeping its businesses open late at night.

The McDonald’s lawsuit claims that the best practices would be to have strong physical barriers between customers and workers in businesses open late at night. However, there are reportedly low check-out counters in the restaurants, which were installed as part of a nationwide remodeling initiative.

The workers in the McDonald’s safety lawsuit say there is little visibility from inside the store to outside, putting them at risk for violence as there are also posters and advertisements covering the windows.
