Hewlett Packard (HP) agreed to an $8.5 million class action lawsuit settlement to resolve claims it failed to pay women the same wages as their male counterparts.

The settlement benefits women who were employed by Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co. in California between Nov. 1, 2015, and Nov. 3, 2022.

Women in the HP class action lawsuit accused the company of paying male workers higher wages than women employees, despite completing the same roles. In addition, Hewlett Packard allegedly hires a disproportionate number of men to technician roles while women are relegated to lower-paying administrative positions.

Hewlett Packard, also called HP, is a tech company that sells computers, printers and other related supplies.

Hewlett Packard hasn’t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to an $8.5 million class action settlement to resolve these allegations.

Under the terms of the HP lawsuit settlement, class members can receive a cash payment.

Each eligible worker will receive a proportional share of the net settlement fund based on the total compensation they received during the class period. Eligible class members received a payment estimate with their mailed settlement notice.

The deadline for exclusion and objection is March 21, 2023.

The final approval hearing for the HP class action lawsuit settlement is scheduled for April 27, 2023.

If class members wish to dispute their settlement payment, they may do so until March 21, 2023, by submitting an enhancement request.

No claim form is required to benefit from the settlement. Class members who do not exclude themselves will automatically receive settlement benefits.
