Vons class action lawsuit is filed.A class action lawsuit has been filed on behalf of 500 current and former Vons employees over allegations that the supermarket chain forced them to work off the clock during lunch breaks, and also violated California overtime law.

Vons is a division of Safeway Inc., the supermarket giant, and has its headquarters in California.

The Vons class action lawsuit is seeking over $4 million in damages.

Plaintiffs allege in the California labor lawsuit that Vons failed to pay adequate overtime compensation for their employees. The lawsuit further alleges that the supermarket chain illegally required employees to work rather than take lunch breaks for at least a four-year period. These alleged actions violate California overtime labor laws.

The Vons class action lawsuit not only alleges that the company failed to act in their employees’ interest, but also alleges that the grocer actively worked against employees by falsifying employee time records in order to conceal and effectively eliminate their overtime hours and show lunch breaks they did not take. According to the class action lawsuit, Vons deliberately disregarded their employees’ rights.

Under California overtime labor law, employees are legally entitled to adequate overtime compensation after working for eight hours a day. California workers are also entitled to overtime compensation after working for 40 hours a week, even if they did not work over eight hours on a given day. This means that, for those who work more than five days a week and exceed 40 hours of work, they are still entitled to overtime compensation.

These California labor law violations occur frequently, and many employees are beginning to respond to this maltreatment. Some choose to file individual labor lawsuits, and others join wage-and-hour class action lawsuits like this one.

The California Vons overtime lawsuit was filed on multiple counts, including but not limited to: failure to pay overtime wages, failure to allow and pay for meal periods, failure to pay minimum wage, failure to keep roper payroll records, and unfair business practices.

The Vons Wage & Hour Class Action Lawsuit is Zeitz and White v. Vons, Case No: 15-cv-03175, in the Superior Court of the State of California for the County of Santa Barbara.

Pavilions.com has “just for U” coupons on it’s home delivery service. However, it is not applying the “just for U” discount on orders. I noticed this, and called, and they said that they could not issue refunds for orders more than a week ago, and this has been going on a long time. They refunded me for the recent order, but not the past orders. They were extremely rude, especially a supervisor named Matt.
