Forever 21 Wage Class Action Lawsuit
By Sarah Pierce
The employees claim in the Forever 21 wage class action lawsuit that they were forced to work during their lunch break without pay and were kept in stores after clocking out in order to have their bags checked for stolen merchandise.
Attorneys for the Forever 21 workers say they’ve spoken to other Forever 21 employees from a number of stores across California who all report the same thing, leading attorneys to believe the company’s illegal wage practices are “very widespread.”
“Sales associates at Forever 21 stores are often still in high school and under the age of 18 when they begin their employment,” an attorney for one of the employees wrote in a statement. “These young people are vulnerable and often do not understand their employment rights. This lawsuit is meant to give these young people a voice about how they were treated while employed by Forever 21 in California.”
The Forever 21 employee class action lawsuit is seeking damages for the hours employees worked during breaks and off the clock.
