DynaDrive has recalled more than 1,000 of its Fresh Water Well Pumps as they pose a risk of electric shock.

The recall was published on the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission website on April 20. It applies to about 1,060 DynaDrive Fresh Water Well Pumps with model numbers DD60-10NPT and DD90-11NPT and serial numbers between 190791000 and 223365720.

According to the recall, the pumps are not adequately grounded and can pose an electric shock hazard to the user.

Manufacturer Davey has received one report of a consumer in Australia who experienced an electrical shock, the company said. No incidents or injuries have been reported in the United States so far.

The company is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes end in class action lawsuits.

Do not touch the pumps, company warns

The recalled products were sold online, in stores, and via contractors through third-party distribution partners from Aug. 2020 through Dec. 2022. DynaDrive pumps with model number DD60-10NPT were sold for about $2,000 and DynaDrive pumps with model number DD90-11NPT were sold for about $2,100.

The recalled products are water pumps used to stabilize water pressure for fresh water wells. The pumps have a yellow canister attached to a stainless steel metal casing and aluminum-coated motor.

Consumers should not attempt to turn the pumps off, change settings on the pumps, inspect or repair the pumps, or otherwise touch the pumps, the company said.

Consumers should register their pump on Davey’s website to schedule a free inspection to verify that the connections are correctly grounded and, if necessary, repair the grounding.
