Several popular companies, retailers and manufacturers announced recalls for products that may pose a risk of injury to consumers. Here are Top Class Actions’ top recalls for the week of Nov. 15.
Costco recalls Kirkland SIgnature Butter
Continental Dairy Facilities Southwest LLC issued a recall of more than 79,000 pounds of Costco’s Kirkland Signature Sweet Cream Butter due to incomplete allergen labeling.Â
The recall affects both salted and unsalted varieties. While the packaging lists cream as an ingredient, it may lack the required “contains milk” allergen disclaimer, posing potential risks for individuals with milk allergies, the recall notice states.Â
The recall covers four lots of unsalted butter with best-by dates of Feb. 22, Feb. 23, March 22, and March 23, 2025, as well as two lots of salted butter with best-by dates of Feb. 23 and March 29, 2025.Â
Each package contains four, 4-ounce sticks. The Food and Drug Administration classified the recall as “Class II,” meaning the product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health effects, though the likelihood of severe consequences is low, according to the recall notice. Consumers who purchased these products should check the labels and best-by dates and to contact the retailer for further instructions.
Wolf Appliance announces recall for dual fuel ranges due to burn, fire risks
Wolf Appliance recalled approximately 44,000 Wolf Dual Fuel Ranges with infrared griddles due to a potential short-circuit hazard when liquids spill or boil over onto the griddle.Â
The recall also includes about 1,400 units sold in Canada and applies to stainless steel models in 36-inch, 48-inch and 60-inch widths, featuring oven doors in black, white or stainless steel. Home appliance stores nationwide sold the ranges August 2020-September 2024 for $12,500 to $23,000, according to the recall notice.
Wolf reported 36 instances of griddles turning on unexpectedly but no related injuries, the recall notice states. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled ranges and contact Wolf Appliance for a free at-home repair. Goveelife announces recall of electric space heaters
GoveeLife and Govee recalled more than half a million smart electric space heaters due to overheating and fire hazards linked to their wireless control features.Â
The recall involves approximately 512,500 units sold in the United States. and 48,600 in Canada. Testing revealed the heaters fail to meet voluntary industry safety standards, raising concerns about potential fire risks, the recall notice states. To date, the companies have received 113 reports of overheating, including seven fires and one minor burn injury.
Consumers should stop using the recalled heaters immediately. To receive a refund, users should unplug the unit, cut the power cord and submit photos of the damaged heater, its manufacturer’s label and serial number, according to the recall notice.
Honda issues recall for Goldwing motorcycles due to potential engine stall
Honda recalled 18,196 GL1800 Goldwing motorcycles from model years 2018 to 2021 due to a defect in the primary drive gear bolt, which may break and cause the engine to stall.Â
This failure can lock the rear wheel, increasing the risk of a crash or injury, according to the recall notice. Honda reports 51 warranty claims, one injury and no fatalities related to the defect since October 2017.
To address the issue, Honda dealers will replace the faulty primary drive gear bolt at no cost to owners, the recall notice states. It will send notification letters starting Dec. 20.Â
Dreamgro issues recall for mermaid travel soothers due to choking hazard
Dreamgro recalled nearly 26,000 Lullaby Mermaid Travel Soothers due to a choking hazard caused by the detachment of a soft gold star attached to the toy.Â
The recall involves 25,900 soothers shaped like mermaids, available in light blue and pink with a gold star on the head. Dreamgro sold the affected products nationwide between January 2024 and May 2024 at retailers such as Macy’s Backstage, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Nordstrom Rack and Burlington, priced between $6 and $9, according to the recall notice.
The recall follows one reported incident of the star detaching, though no injuries have been reported, the recall states. Consumers should immediately stop using the soothers, remove them from children’s access,and return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
