Boarโ€™s Head, DGL Group, Razor, Supreme Service Solutions, BMW, ground cinnamon recalls overview:

Several popular companies, retailers and manufacturers announced recalls for products that may pose a risk of injury to consumers. Here are Top Class Actionsโ€™ top recalls for the week of July 29.

Boarโ€™s Head recalls 207K pounds of deli meat linked to listeria outbreak

Boarโ€™s Head issued a recall for approximately 207,528 pounds of liverwurst and other deli meat products due to an ongoing listeria outbreak.ย 

This outbreak has been linked to 34 illnesses in 13 states, resulting in 33 hospitalizations and two deaths as of July 25, 2024, the recall notice states.

The recall includes all Boarโ€™s Head liverwurst products, as well as other deli meats produced on the same line and day as the liverwurst, between June 11, 2024, and July 17, 2024, according to the recall notice. Boarโ€™s Head shipped these products to retail locations nationwide. Their sell-by dates range from July 25, 2024- Aug. 30, 2024.

The Food Safety and Inspection Service advises consumers who purchased the recalled products not to consume them and to contact Boarโ€™s Head directly at 800-352-6277 for more information.

Cinnamon recalls issued over dangerous lead contamination

Multiple brands recalled ground cinnamon products across several states due to elevated lead levels. The recalls involve products from American Spices LLC, Advance Food International Inc. and ALB-USA Enterprises Inc.ย 

American Spices recalled its Spice Class brand ground cinnamon in 7-ounce and 11-ounce plastic jars distributed in New York City between Dec. 1, 2023, and May 15, 2024. Advance Food International recalled its Shahzada brand cinnamon powder in 7-ounce packaging distributed in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Massachusetts Jan. 1-May 24, 2024. Similarly, ALB-USA Enterprises recalled ALB Flavor brand cinnamon powder, distributed in New York, Connecticut, Michigan and Massachusetts between Dec. 15, 2022, and May 13, 2024.ย 

No illnesses have been reported in connection with these recalls, according to the recall notices, which also state consumers should stop using the recalled products immediately and seek refunds.ย 

Recalls issued for scooters due to injury, crash risks

DGL Group and Razor recalled thousands of e-scooters due to defects that allegedly caused injuries for dozens of users.ย 

DGL Group recalled approximately 4,200 Hover-1 Dynamo E-Scooters due to a brake failure issue, according to the recall notice. It received 22 reports of brake failures, resulting in seven injuries, including abrasions, contusions, a dislocated shoulder, fractured teeth, lacerations and strains. Consumers should stop using the recalled e-scooters immediately and contact DGL Group for a full refund, providing photos of the scooterโ€™s serial number and severed motor cable.

Similarly, Razor recalled about 7,300 Icon electric scooters due to the potential for the downtube to separate from the floorboard during use. The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced this recall July 25. It affects Razor Icon electric scooters with specific model and serial numbers, the recall notice states.ย 

Razor says it received 34 reports of downtube separation, with two reported injuries involving bruising. Consumers should stop using the recalled scooters immediately and contact Razor for a refund or coupon, according to the recall notice. Those with proof of purchase for scooters bought on or after March 11, 2023, can receive a full refund, while others can opt for a $700 coupon or a $300 refund.

Kroger recalls guacamole, salsa, pre-cut veggies over โ€˜fatal illnessโ€™ risk

Supreme Service Solutions LLC recalled a variety of guacamole, salsa and pre-cut vegetable products sold at Kroger stores in several states due to potential contamination with listeria monocytogenes.ย 

The recall affects 19 products sourced from Wiers Farm Inc., including guacamoles, pico de gallos, cut peppers, cilantro and jalapeรฑos, the recall notice states.ย 

Listeria monocytogenes can cause severe and sometimes fatal infections, particularly in young children, the elderly and those with weakened immune systems, according to the notice.

Weirs Farm distributed the recalled products to Kroger stores in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri and Ohio. No illnesses or consumer complaints have been reported, the recall notice says. Consumers should discard any of the affected products, which should already be out of distribution due to their expired shelf life.ย 

BMW recall over rear crash issues affects 291,000 vehicles

BMW recalled more than 291,000 vehicles due to a rear crash issue that may cause faulty bolts to fail, leading to the cargo rail detaching.ย 

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), this defect affects the following models from 2018-2023: X3 sDrive30i, X3 xDrive30i, X3 M40i and X3 M.ย 

BMW first identified the problem in August 2022 after an extreme rear crash involving one of the affected models prompted the automaker to inspect and test the vehicle, the recall notice states.ย 

BMW says it will send recall notices to affected vehicle owners on Aug. 30. Dealers will replace the defective bolts at no cost to the owners. For more information, vehicle owners can contact BMW customer service at 800-525-7417, referencing recall number 24V-534.ย
