Lexmark International, Polaris, Quaker Oats, Veyer, Max Mobility/Permobil recalls overview:

Several popular companies, retailers and manufacturers announced recalls for products that may pose a risk of injury to consumers. Here are Top Class Actions’ top recalls for the week of Jan. 20.  

Quaker Oats recalls Pearl Milling pancake, waffle mix

The Quaker Oats Co. recalled select two-pound boxes of Pearl Milling Company Original Pancake & Waffle Mix due to undeclared milk, which can pose a risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions for individuals with milk allergies.

The recall affects boxes with a UPC of 30000 65040 and a best-by date of Sept. 1, 2025. Quaker Oats distributed the mix to retailers in Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nebraska, Utah and Wisconsin, the recall notice states. Consumers could have purchased the product as early as Nov. 18, 2024.

Quaker says it has not received any reports of allergic reactions related to the recall, according to the notice. Consumers with milk allergies or sensitivities should not consume the product and should return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Lexmark initiates recall for specialty printers due to fire risk

Lexmark recalled more than 40,000 specialty printers due to a potential fire risk caused by a metal part inside the printer that may dislodge. The recall affects printers sold June 2018-November 2024 through lexmark.com, CDW Logistics, Tech Data Product Management Inc. and Insight Direct USA Inc. The printers, priced at $1,000-$4,200, print on paper, vinyl signs, banners, and other plastics.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled printers and contact Lexmark for a free repair part, which snaps into the rear access panel, the recall notice states.

Lexmark says it received two reports of printers overheating, including one fire, but no reports of injuries or property damage. The recall also involves approximately 4,000 printers sold in Canada.

Polaris recalls off-road vehicles due to potential door handle defect

Polaris recalled more than 4,400 recreational off-road vehicles because the doors can unexpectedly open while driving, posing serious injury and crash hazards.

The recall affects approximately 4,200 model year 2024-2025 Ranger XD 1500 and Crew XD 1500 ROVs sold in the United States, along with 393 accessory doors and 291 ROVs sold in Canada.

Polaris says the door handles on these vehicles may stick, causing the doors to open unexpectedly while in motion, according to the recall notice. The company  says it received 20 reports of doors opening during operation, though no injuries or crashes have been reported.

Polaris is contacting registered owners directly and providing instructions on how to inspect the door handles to ensure they remain securely closed, the recall notice states. This interim step will allow some consumers to safely operate their vehicles until repairs can be completed.

WorkPro Momentum office chairs recalled over fall risk

Veyer recalled approximately 64,000 WorkPro Momentum office chairs due to a fall hazard caused by bolts that may fail, disconnecting the chair’s back from its base.

The recall affects WorkPro Momentum office chairs with a heavy metal frame, including the black version (model 8517865) and gray version (model 2864384). Veyer sold the chairs at Office Depot and OfficeMax stores nationwide, as well as online, from October 2021-September 2024 for approximately $430.

Veyer received seven reports of consumers falling from the recalled chairs, resulting in two minor injuries, the recall notice states. Customers should immediately stop using the chairs and contact Veyer to receive a free repair kit.

Wheelchair power assist device recalled over safety, performance 

Max Mobility/Permobil recalled the Speed Control Dial component of its SmartDrive MX2+ Power Assist Device due to potential safety and performance concerns.

The recall applies to devices manufactured and distributed through authorized retailers between Aug. 17, 2023, and Nov. 21, 2024, according to the recall notice. The company warns the recalled component may cause issues such as continued drive, involuntary movement, loss of power or failure to start driving, which could result in minor or serious injuries.

As of Dec. 12, 2024, Max Mobility/Permobil received 646 complaints related to the recalled component, including three reports of serious injury, the recall notice states. Customers who purchased the recalled component should use the provided QR code to access the field action portal and request a replacement unit, the recall notice states.
