Cucumbers recalled due to potential salmonella contaminationÂ
SunFed Produce issued a recall for all sizes of its whole cucumbers due to potential contamination with salmonella.Â
Retail and food service channels sold the recalled cucumbers in 26 U.S. states and multiple Canadian provinces. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration linked the cucumbers to salmonella-related illnesses reported between Oct. 12, 2024, and Nov. 15, 2024. SunFed says no other products are affected and to contact its direct buyers to address the issue, according to the recall notice.
Consumers should check for the recalled cucumbers and, if found, dispose of them immediately or return them to the place of purchase. For additional information, they can call the SunFed recall hotline at 888-542-5849.Â
Recall issued for eggs sold at Costco due to potential salmonella contamination

Handsome Brook Farms stated no illnesses have been reported and it will implement additional supply chain controls and retraining measures to prevent future incidents. Consumers should stop using the eggs immediately and return them to Costco for a full refund or safely dispose of them, the recall notice says.
Recall issued for vegetable medley, carrots related to Grimmway Farms recall
4Earth Farms issued a recall for select vegetable medleys and whole organic carrots due to potential contamination with Shiga toxin-producing E. coli O121:H19.Â
The recall affects organic vegetable medley, conventional vegetable medley and organic whole carrots distributed in California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Minnesota, New Hampshire and Pennsylvania. The affected products have best-by dates ranging from Sept. 7, 2024, to Nov. 2, 2024.Â
Consumers should check their refrigerators and freezers, discard any recalled items and thoroughly clean any surfaces the products may have contacted, the recall states. The recall follows an FDA investigation into a multistate outbreak of E. coli O121:H19 infections linked to carrots from Grimmway Farms, which previously initiated its own large-scale recalls. As of Nov. 22, the outbreak has resulted in 39 illnesses, 15 hospitalizations and one death.Â
Hyundai announces recall for Santa Fes, Elantras
Hyundai announced a recall of 226,118 Santa Fe and Elantra vehicles in the United States due to a defect in the rearview camera that could increase the risk of accidents.Â
The recall, which the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration published Nov. 21, includes the 2021-2022 Santa Fe, Santa Fe HEV, Elantra and Elantra HEV models, as well as the 2022 Elantra N and Santa Fe PHEV. The issue involves a damaged printed circuit board that may prevent the rearview camera image from displaying, significantly reducing rearward visibility and increasing the risk of injury while reversing, according to the recall notice.
Hyundai attributes the defect to insufficient solder joints on the camera’s circuit board, which may degrade over time. To address this, Hyundai dealerships will replace the rearview cameras at no cost to vehicle owners, the recall notice states. It says it will send notifications to affected owners by Jan. 19, 2025.
Carolina Prime Pet initiates dog treat recall due to salmonella contamination
Carolina Prime Pet issued a recall for specific 16-ounce bags of Hollywood Feed Carolina Made Chicken Chips due to potential salmonella contamination.Â

Carolina Prime Pet says it has not received reports of any pet illnesses. Salmonella poses risks to both animals and humans. Pets infected with salmonella may experience symptoms like lethargy, fever, vomiting, diarrhea or abdominal pain, while humans handling contaminated products can develop symptoms such as nausea, fever and abdominal cramps. Consumers should stop using the affected treats immediately and either dispose of them or return them to the place of purchase for a refund.
